Rev. Jaimie Simon

Rev. Jaimie Simon
UUCH Minister

The Reverend Jaimie Simon is the Settled Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Huntsville. She was unanimously called to serve the congregation in April of 2020. After a few years of covid lockdown ministry, the congregation was able to formally ordain and install her on May 15th, 2022.

Within our church, Rev. Jaimie regularly preaches on justice issues, interfaith connections, and how our UU values inform our lives. She serves as head of staff and manages our various ministries, working in partnership with our Board of Trustees and church leaders. She is available for pastoral care needs of members and friends, and frequently presides over rites of passage rituals, like Weddings, Memorial Services, and Child Dedications.

You can schedule time to speak with her using her Calendly Link

Outside our church, Rev. Jaimie is active in our wider Huntsville community. She is building deep partnerships with a variety of interfaith clergy and congregations. She collaborates with justice organizers and nonprofit leaders on initiatives that reflect our UU values.

Within our denomination, Rev. Jaimie is passionate about our Association and a devoted colleague to other UU ministers. Since childhood, she has served in leadership positions in our association and participated in regional and national UU gatherings and trainings. Leading up to the election in June of 2023, Rev. Jaimie served on the UUA Presidential Search Committee that nominated Rev. Sofia Betancourt to be our association President. Rev. Jaimie meets regularly with colleagues in the southern region, and across the country for support and deeper learning. She mentors new ministers, and having earned Full Fellowship within our denomination, she is thrilled to be a Ministerial Internship Supervisor, for Rachel Rogers.

She received her Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 2019 and her Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies from Boston University in 2016. She trained for ministry as the Ministerial Intern at the UU Church of Reading Massachusetts, as well as in hospital and prison chaplaincy roles, and in church staff positions in membership and religious education.

Rev. Jaimie lives with her husband, Will Simon, in Madison, where they enjoy going for walks, playing board games, swimming in the pool, and trying out every Mexican Restaurant they can find! They share their home with Clementine, the unofficial UUCH church dog, and Herbert, the tortoise.
