Lori Larson
Music Director

Originally from Oneida, IL, Lori received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) and studied choral music conducting at the University of Iowa. After serving as a musician in the U.S. Army, she retired to Huntsville and studied organ with Dr. David Lunn Miller at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Before coming to UUCH, Lori worked for Huntsville First United Methodist Church, serving as assistant organist/accompanist, singer, conductor, and interim music director.
Lori enjoys composing and arranging choral music, is married, and is owned by two cats.
As a church musician, it is my job to enhance the worship experience for all who are in hearing distance of my musical offering. Or, as Fred Pratt Green says in one of my favorite hymns, When in Our Music God Is Glorified:
“How often, making music, we have found
A new dimension in the world of sound,
As worship moved us to a more profound
Alleluia!”
