Jes Zelaya
Director of Religious Education
Jes Zelaya is a North Alabama local and has been a part of UUCH since 2009. Jes has worked
in childcare as an assistant Montessori teacher and nanny for the last 10 years and enjoys
working with young children. She attended Colin College in Dallas Texas and is a certified
Medical Administrative Assistant. Jes lives with her partner, two children, one year old Georgia
and 9 year old Rowan, along with their two dogs, cat, and lots of chickens. Her focus in religious
education includes creating a welcoming environment for neurodiverse children and their
parents by upholding our UU principles. She enjoys reading, sewing, playing with her dogs, and
spending time with family.
