“Listen more often to things than to beings, ‘tis the Ancestor’s breath when the fire’s voice is heard, ‘tis the Ancestor’s breath in the voice of the waters.” Listen! We have ancestors, of blood, of love, of spirit, of art, of protest. Ancestors who have wisdom to share. May we honor these ancestors and learn to listen. On this Remembrance Sunday, we will honor those we have lost and those whose legacies continue to shape our lives.
