Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, has dedicated his legal career to defending those who are trapped by an often capricious, political, and willfully unjust criminal justice system–poor people, people of color, children, and others over whom the system has run roughshod. His award-winning book, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, speaks to justice, mercy, and compassion–themes of concern to us as Unitarian Universalists and as human beings. It is a compelling read from a brave activist and a gifted writer that will inspire you, and will give you hope that something can be done.

Join us for a viewing of a short 20-minute TED Talk video by Stevenson about his experiences, followed by a 30 minute discussion. This will be held immediately following the Wonderful Wednesday Night Supper. Everyone is welcome, no advanced preparation is necessary; just join us in viewing the film. Childcare will be provided.
