Who is Telling Our Story?

A few weeks ago I received a request from a member of a Unitarian Universalist congregation in California for information about one of our previous members. She was planning to tell a story about him as part of her congregation’s worship service honoring Martin Luther King Jr. It was a story I don’t remember us ever telling. It occurred to me that we should at least know the stories about our congregation that others are telling. So, this Sunday, as we remember Martin Luther King Jr., we will also remember how he inspired, and continues to inspire, people in our own community to act courageously for the sake of justice.
