As summer draws to a close, Unitarian Universalists around the country mark the start of a new year, a new ministry, a new beginning with the ritual of Water Communion. Waters from our homes and our travels are poured into a shared vessel to symbolically regather a scattered community. Even in these times, this ritual can hold meaning for us as we grieve the world we have lost, renewing our commitment to the new world that is possible. Let the waters shared and blessed this day connect us more deeply to one another, to our values, and to our shared purpose.
***To participate fully in our worship experience, please have an empty bowl and a container of water that you can pour from with you wherever you watch our service.****
Following our worship service, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., congregants are invited to meet our new minister and participate in a “Drive-Through Water Communion Service”. Grab a mask, grab some of the water you used in the ritual part of our worship service, and head on over to the church building. Our Minister Jaimie (and Clementine, UUCH’s honorary church dog) will be in the parking lot to greet you and collect your water! We will all be following UUCH’s newly adopted Covid-19 Policy and look forward to seeing each other in person!
